Pre-registration phase completed Pre-registration phase completed
During the six month period from 1st June to 1st December 2008, ECHA received approximately 2.75 million pre-registrations covering around 150,000 substances.
Roughly 105,000 of these substances are either EU “existing substances” (EINECS) or notified new substances (ELINCS).
The remaining 45,000 pre-registered substances are currently being screened by ECHA. Once this screening process is complete the number of pre-registered substances requiring registration will fall as substances deemed out of scope will be removed, any pre-registrations submitted by non EU/EEA companies will also be removed.
Non EU/EEA companies who have had their pre-registrations removed by ECHA and wish to continue to supply their substances to the EU/EEA market can seek advice from WSP to discuss the options open to them.
ECHA have published a list of pre-registered substances which can be found here. This list will changes as the screening of pre-registrations progresses.
