WSP Environmental Strategies speaks at forum of leading chemical management services providers

Doug Lockwood, Senior Consultant with WSP Environmental Strategies, delivered a presentation on the European Union REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) regulation at the 11th annual CMS Workshop Forum held in San Francisco on October 23-25, 2007.

The Forum was a major event which drew seasoned representatives of companies including Haas TCM, PPG, Boeing, Delta Air Lines, Goodrich, United Technologies, Rockwell Collins and Dolphin Software. The 3 day event focused on supply chain innovation in fluctuating markets and provided valuable insights into chemical data management, emerging worldwide regulatory requirements affecting chemicals, and successful efforts to "green" chemical inventories.

Doug spoke on the effects that the REACH regulation will have on the chemical supply chain, how REACH will drive the need for chemical data and safer alternatives to chemicals currently in use, and best industry practices for ensuring compliance and minimizing business risks associated with REACH. He also identified key strategies for chemical management service providers to leverage their current service offerings to provide value-added services to their clients related to enhanced data management capabilities, chemical substitution and re-qualification, and assurance of continued availability of vitally needed chemicals for manufacturing operations.

WSP's invitation to speak at this high-profile event strengthens our reputation as a leading global consultant recognized for delivering integrated solutions to environmental management challenges across the world.
