Warning of fast approaching Registration period

The European Commission and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) have advised companies to ensure they pre-register all obligatory chemicals before the 1st December 2008 deadline
failing to do so is likely to cause disruption to their operations if they continue to manufacture or import any chemicals. It is believed that over 180,000 pre-registration files will be submitted in the Pre-Registration period that runs from the 1st June. There is concern over whether all companies are aware of their obligations, particularly those who lie outside the chemicals sector and the Commission has called upon a number of stakeholders, including Member State authorities to help all that are affected become aware of their obligations.
